Family Prayer Time

This quarantine we are all experiencing right now brings about many emotions. I feel blessed and happy that with a reduced workload, I am able to spend more time with Emar, Phoebe and Paul. But, at the same time, it saddens me because many good and hardworking people lost their livelihood because of forced closures of shops with the aim of keeping us all at home so as not to spread the novel coronavirus 2019.

What I treasure most though is the nightly FAMILY prayer time we now have, hoping to bombard the heavens with healing for the sick, protection for all frontliners and provisions for those who need it most.

And of course, our afternoon “schoolwork” sessions and spelling drills where I get to become Teacher-Mama. Then, there is the 2-chapter-a-day book reading I imposed on Paul and Phoebe at the beginning of the quarantine, which they now look forward to everyday.

We hope to sustain this nightly FAMILY prayer time even beyond the COVID-19 crisis; and my wish is that Phoebe and Paul get to love reading with or without unjust coercion from their Teacher-Mama.
