Psalm 16:11

This year, we would have celebrated Emar’s 42nd birthday in Boracay. That was the plan.

His birthday falls on a July, and this is usually when we do his Executive Check-up at CHH and our Kuya Paul’s annual visit to his Neurodevelopmental Pedia, also at CHH.

It would have been a well-deserved vacation for our small family of four and would have been another memorable trip with the kids.

But, COVID-19 had other plans. So, all we can do now is to look back on our past vacations and savor wonderful memories.

This photo was taken on the first day of January 2020 around 4pm to be exact. The husband, the kids and I were leisurely strolling along this path from our hotel (The Oriental in Palo, Leyte), where we were vacationing, when I took this photo. The path leads to the historical MacArthur’s Park.

Such a beautiful memory of us spending quality time together, resting and preparing ourselves for whatever 2020 would bring.

Unfortunately, it brought COVID-19. Who would have thought?!

Yet, fast-forward to today, I don’t really feel like I’ve missed anything... important. Because whatever the circumstances Lord, Your words in Psalm 16:11 still ring true up to this day and time.
You alone Lord God can “fill me with joy... with eternal pleasures at your right hand”.
